How old is your TV?

Sometimes, in order to find the correct remote control for TV, you need to know the TV's age. Look at the back of your TV. Since the early 1970's, Federal law requires manufacturers to print the manufacture date on the back of their TVs. Usually the manufacture date is near the model number. See the image below.

This idea was to prevent fraud. It would be impossible to sell a TV manufactured in 2000 in the year 2006. The TV may look new, but looking at the manufacture date gives it away.
